Legal framework

The Federal Recognition Act grants international nursing professionals the right to have their professional qualifications assessed for equivalence with the corresponding German nursing profession. In recent years, the number of applications for recognition under the Nursing Act has risen significantly.

In order to be granted permission to use the professional title "nursing professional", several legal requirements must be met:

Equivalence assessment of foreign professional qualifications
Proof of sufficient German language skills (at least B2 level)
Health suitability
Personal reliability

Many international nursing professionals must also complete an adaptation program with a final interview or a knowledge assessment. This is because their training in their home country often does not fully meet German standards, and professional experience alone cannot compensate for the identified deficiencies.

Task and educational goal

CareLend Bildungsgesellschaft mbH was founded in August 2022 and operates as a recognized educational provider in the German market. Our core mission is to conduct adaptation measures and preparatory courses for the knowledge assessment for international nursing professionals. In doing so, we support the professional recognition and integration of foreign nursing staff into the German healthcare system.

Through close collaboration with CareLend GmbH, participant recruitment, dealing with authorities, and travel arrangements are handled. This allows CareLend Bildungsgesellschaft mbH to fully concentrate on professional development and addressing the shortcomings identified in the deficit assessment. After arrival, we provide comprehensive support to participants in all aspects of their training.

Quality and curriculum

To ensure high-quality adaptation measures, CareLend Bildungsgesellschaft mbH developed its own curriculum and submitted it to the State Administration Office of Saxony-Anhalt. This curriculum was ratified by the State Administration Office in Halle and forms the basis for our courses.

The curriculum defines the thematic framework and sets priorities according to the individual learning needs of the participants. At the same time, the content is aligned with the legal and administrative requirements of the recognition procedure under the Nursing Professions Act.

Our task is to design the measures in such a way that nursing professionals – building on their existing competencies – reach a level of knowledge and skills that corresponds to the German training standard. We place particular emphasis on ensuring that the lessons prepare for practical placements and that practical experience is integrated into the curriculum.

Adaptation Course for International Nursing Professionals

The course and final examination are conducted in German. The curriculum is designed specifically for an adaptation course for individuals holding a recognized nursing qualification.

Participation Requirements

A deficit notice (Defizitbescheid) from the State Administrative Office of Saxony-Anhalt
Sufficient German language proficiency at the start of the course to ensure successful participation in both theoretical and practical instruction.

Course Content and Objectives

The theoretical instruction covers clearly defined topic areas and learning objectives aligned with the requirements of the German nursing profession. International nursing professionals already bring extensive expertise and professional experience with them.
